While a Mayo player or one union officially took the title of tonight’s biggest winner in Saturday’s Lotto draw, 149 other players from across Ireland shared a staggering €5.5 million in the Match 5 + Bonus prize category.
It included eight stores in May and the list is:
Mace Oil, Charlestown.
Centra Murphy, Ballenrup.
Garryduff Stores, Castlebar.
Today’s Break, Main Street, Castle Bar.
Sentra, Enniscrone, Ballina.
Daily Newsstands, Silverbridhge Shopping Centre, Claremores.
Store, Ballintubber.
Spar, Pala.
With the Lotto jackpot set at €19.06 million, the money that would normally go to the jackpot would flow to the next higher tier there was a winner and in last night’s historic draw, this was the Match 5 + Bonus jackpot category.
The highly anticipated ‘Will be Won’ event saw 149 winners matching five numbers and a reward for sharing a prize fund of approximately €5.5 million and will now go on to claim €36,687 each.
149 players, from 26 provinces, purchased their tickets in-store and online at www.lottery.ie.
The National Lottery urged players to check their tickets carefully and the 149 winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe.
Lucky winners should contact the Prize Claims Team at 1800666222 or send an email to [email protected] and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.
Roughly 30 per cent of every euro spent on all national lotteries is due to good causes in sports, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish language. In total, more than 6 billion euros have been raised for good causes since the creation of the national lottery 34 years ago.
